A '72 Squire with supposedly only 449 original miles from new, being sold by Dean Laumbach Consulting. Looks legit, though there are only exterior photos so far:

Wow, amazing car! I wonder what the story is behind it? I hope they add some underhood and undercarriage shots. This car would be great to document for preference for restoration.
Any word on what engine it has? |

cars are meant to be driven, drive the darn thing and enjoy it. Yea it has 449 miles on it but so what? I could see if this was a 449 mile hemi cuda or even a 449 mile72 q code fastback 4 spd but in reality whats a wagon like this worth? $20k tops? I hear what you are sayin, but its not like wagons garner the same type of prestige as the more mainstream highly sought after models. I'm a wagon guy too, I love em but the segment of the market that view this thing as some sort of holy grail car to be kept in a bubble for eternity are far and few between. Would be like a 449 mile slant 6 4 door dodge dart, yea its awesome to see one in such original unrestored condition, but in the end its still a slant 6 4 door dart. Its like my 73 base, it only had 37k miles on it, but its just a 302/c4 car, so I don't worry about the miles on it. I hop in it and drive the tires off it when I have I time to do so.

For me, it’s more condition related. It’s like my wagon. It didn’t run from 1979-2017 and it has 35,000 original miles, but it was left outside all that time so it’s not in good shape anymore so I have no issue modifying it or driving it more. This wagon is in such perfect condition that I just wouldn’t be able to do anything with it or to it. Everybody’s different, though. What happens to it is ultimately up to the new owner. You could say that even a ‘72 GTS CJ 4 speed with that kind of mileage isn’t worth very much because these are all still Torinos. They’ll always be overshadowed and you’ll never get your money back if you fully restore one, but we love them anyway. Even a slant 6 Dart, a straight 6 4 door Nova or Falcon...anything like that - if it had 449 miles and was in good shape, I’d be parking it. Any 40-50 year old common production car with so few miles is an incredibly rare find. Marc’s point is good too. People who want to do stock restorations could benefit from good photos of this wagon. I think the closest car to stock otherwise is a 6,000 mile Montego GT that’s been at Carlisle a few times. Edited by GTW - 06-September-2018 at 3:55PM |

I used the q code fastback as an example since that is probably the most sought after model and they seem to routinely go for over $25k regardless of miles in nice restored condition. I understand the rarity of a such a low mileage car but personally i'd still drive it every chance I had. I just don't see the use of simply lookin at a old car if you own it, the real fun is gettin behind the wheel. Same reason i'll never go hog wild on restorin one. Guys do that and make them so nice they are afraid to drive them, where is the fun in that? This is a sharp ride though, have we found out what engine it has in it yet?

OK I guess I have to chime in on this , So drive it or NOT , here goes . You won't buy it to drive . Best it be bought by a dealer who would put it on the showroom floor . That's where albos 74 GTS with 4330 original miles is, I didn't need to sell it , I really liked looking at it too, but I just didn't drive it . Bates Ford , Lebanon Tenn.

Medium yellow goldenrod I believe. The q-code parts car I daw in Arizona was originally that color.
I have to say that it looks good on that car. I love the question: Q: Why does it only have 449 original moles? A: Because the owner didn't go 450. |

Looks like it's going to a private collection in Orange County, California according to the comments. It'll be at Cars & Coffee events there too apparently. Some are speculating that Jay Leno bought it, but if not, it might just end up on Jay Leno's Garage anyway. Lots of great nostalgia and stories in the comments.
