About the vinyl on the car, i know, but i didn't wanted to take the trims of, and anyway, i'll start to sand all the car around november, so it's just temporary

get a windshield molding removal tool and slip it under the trim and it hooks onto the clip and will release it.very easy and when your done takin the vinyl off and painted the pillar then snap the molding back on.
the tool is cheap to buy and easy to use Edited by 73 ProStreetTorino - 25-April-2010 at 11:36PM |

it has been a while since the last update
Well, there's nothing new exept i take out the oil pressure gauge and put a small 3 board gauges
My water temperature auge from the cluster is dead, so i figure out to put 3 gauges near the shifter. I put on the trim picon sold me, and man, she looks so much better. Still waiting for the seat covers, shipping is quite of long this time.
And i'm gonna need a new set of tires for the back. I'm not sure what i'm gonna run, some 255/70/15 or 275/70/15 or i should go with 60 width, i want my speedometer to be as accurate as it can be
Also thinking which brand, cooper or bf goodrich
say bye bye

I like both but a little more partial to BFG T/A's ride and traction
I believe Cooper Cobra's are a little cheaper then T/A readials but haven't priced any lately |

well I have only really had and drove on BFG T/A's so I can't speak for the ride and handling of the Coopers. My buddy had Cooper Cobra's on his 67 Dodge Coronet but never really did street driving with it as we tore it down to restore and I toke it down the road to see how fast it went.the BFG's handle great I the snow I can tell you that and the back tires will let loose on either tire if you have a lead foot on acceleration but the BFG's will do good in the rain.
Maybe someone who has Cooper Cobra's can give you some insight on those tires But I have always been partial to BFG's cause the raised white lettering and the tread pattern look like muscle car tires |

hey ilyes since you have a Megashifter why don't you remove the selector indicater off of the column? you can remove that plastic cover from the column then take the pointer out and you will just have a slot left but look better then a selector indicator on the column when you have the one on the shifter which is the only one that actually works.I did this to my last 73 Torino when I installed a B&M Megashifter and bucket seats cause with the shifter removed there was no sense looking at another indicator that never moved.

just prdered a set of tires for the rear
255/70/15 BF GOODRICH RADIAL T/A, hope it's gonna fit on my wheels, i havn't check the rims size, but my 225 fit more than ok, so i should be ok.
But now, i'm thinking of gettin rid of the 225 from the front to put the 255 in the front, and buy some 275 or 295 for the back

I think after you see the size of the 255/70's, you'll keep them for the back. Maybe a 255 in a 60 or 50 series for the front, but 255/70's are pretty tall. That's what I'm running on the back of my car with an 8.5" rim and 205/75's on the front with 7's. Glad to see your formal roof coming together. ![]() ![]() |

Another BTB, you and Uante's brougham are the only one's I have seen in 73 models.I have a formal but it's only a Gran Torino.Even cars I see for sale are usually just Gran's not brougham.Anyone know the production of them in 73?

I really like what the kid has done to this car....but, I would have painted the top Pearl White....but that is only because when I was a kid, my oldest brother had a new '73 Sport that was Ivy Glow (green, as if you didn't know...
) with a white vinyl top....very sharp car.... |

www.profitautointeriors.com is a good place to look, they have my 1/2 top and it will be $169.00 plus shipping. Send them an email...mine wasn't listed on their site. SMS (www.smsautofabrics.com) is another one, but they are pricey....damn near double the price quote.

Unfortunately Ford did not keep the numbers for Broughams in 73. It was the first year they had Gran Torino Broughams. They had Torino Broughams 70-71, then switched to Gran Torino in 72, then added the Brougham back with the Gran Torino 1973, but didn't keep the numbers made. btw Ilyes, Looking forward to seeing the new wheels. I got my interior material from SMS fabrics and they are pricey, but the only ones I found to have the OEM material I needed for my front seat. |
