Took the Elite out the other day for a ride and to have the place where my vinyl top will be replaced take a look at it and quote me. (They will be getting back to me.) She rode and dove like a dream...set cruise at 65 and just cruised....

So, while  I wait for my paint shop guy to schedule it in...I am working on my rim/tire choice. I am doing the same rim treatment that I did on the Montego because I like the look. The center caps however needed some detail...I popped out the LSC centers and put these in. Love the look.

Ok...she is scheduled to go in for repaint on June 15th. Color choice is a no brainer. 9A white factory stock color and a new vinyl top to replace the dry rotted old one...will post pictures while she is in. Once the car is painted - the new rims will go on.

Just curious who you're having paint in? Someone in Rome? Are they also doing the top or is Rockfords?

Yes, Unloved....same rims. I am having Kelly Pope at Autotech in Rome paint the car...Connie Collins from Verona will do the top while it is in at Kelly's place. Connie did the half top on my Montego. I am excited to finally get it painted....after much discussion, we decided that I am just going to keep her original with 9A Wimbledon White....

Should be very nice.

On the wheels, I installed mine directly onto the car, but had an issue with the front center cap depth. Also was not fond of the offset v/s the wheel well area. I then installed 1 inch spacers and it made a huge difference in appearance. Just a thought.

I had the same rims on my Montego and thought they looked and rode great. I used (then and now) Lincoln Mark VII center caps that are all metal with no ring on the inside like the Town Car original chromed plastic center caps with the metal clip and ring that hits the bearing cup.

Took the rear seat and side panels out to pull the dual opera windows....WOW!!! So clean, so nice...I cannot believe how well preserved this car is....AND guess what found, thats right, the build sheets (both of them) under the webbing of the rear seat and behind the driver rear seat panel was a piece of paper with "stripe" x'ed ....factory pin stripe order slip...

Ok...prep continues and I am trying to track down the plastic hooks that are attached to the front seat upright and hooks the seatbelt when you fold the seat forward for access to the rear seat. I have looked all over and cannot find re-pops....any ideas??

Yeah, those are apparently pretty hard to come by un-damaged.
