Originally I started this thread in the newbie forum and then over on the big block forum but since I've moved on with doing other things to this car, that I hadn't planned to tackle this year, now I'm in the search for parts. I figured this would be a better place to ask about specific 1973 Torino parts. I finished this swap a couple months back, using various parts I had laying around and honestly, things went a lot smoother that I had anticipated.
I didn't plan I really messing with the A/C on this car until 2021 but I had a good Tecumseh compressor off my 460 F100 truck, that was converted to a serpentine system. I went ahead and gathered the rest of the A/C parts I needed for the factory system, installed them, converted over to 134a, pulled a vacuum and BAM!, cold air. My only problem is, when I got this car, some idiot removed the A/C ducting from the driver side and must have left something underneath the dash disconnected. My cold air does not come through the driver or pass vents but on the floor. Could anyone point me in the direction, where I might find the ducting for the driver side, that also includes the vent that faces the windshield for the driver side defrost? Posted a couple of updated under hood pics here, that are also over on the big block forum. A/C is connected now and I did swap carburetors. |

Excellent, great work. That big engine fits well and the new AC parts I'm sure you will appreciate. I have to find all of the AC parts for my latest 73, a Nevada truck ordered that way, hmm?

I’m doing the same with my 76, but still looking for the engine mounts 🤦♂️ You have a line on any? Looks like no room for headers as well? Curtis

Ouch, seeing all the engine mount threads, I didn't know that nobody made any now. I hadn't thought at all about those, to me those have always been standard items any parts store could order.

ya they have aftermarket but I’m just concerned if they’re strong enough for 500+hp?

Stock type mounts should be fine for decent power, what brands are there? 20+ years ago there were not as many parts makers, and almost all then were good parts. In the last 10-15 years a bunch of brands have popped up, there are tons of low quality parts now. Some brands like Detroit Axle I would never buy parts from, but there are many many odd unknown brands now. You do have to be much more careful these days.
