Mine does show from the back, but filling the tank from the side is a breeze, and no spillage or fumes. Plus, everyone thinks it is cool at the fuel stations when I get gas.

Joe, I'm about to try this mod.  Do you have any close up pics of the filler and in the trunk you could share?

I have 1978 cougar fuel filler door.......and a few other ‘78 cougar parts, too....

Let’s see what I remember:

Pair of rear lights
Hood/fenders rear trim
Vinyl trim
A front marker light
Wide bright rocker trim
A few side moulding pieces
Antenna

I think I have a few other things, but I’d have to look in the bins.

I bought mine brand from amazon, just inspect in when you get it? mine had some dents in it.

for the larger tank swap does it require additional parts...such as larger straps?

Anyone swap for a stainless tank?
Are there alternatives?
Like a Chevelle tank?

Holy crap...just saw the price on these!

Nevermind.
