I'd like to know what you guys think of bolting on a 71-73 shaker base to a 73.
I'm afraid the mustang base may look too small for the torino hood.
I'm looking at this unit to replace the Mopar scoop on the torino, or just getting a new hood with no scoop.

'69-'70 had the shaker like you show, the '71-'73 didn't have the option(They had Ram Air through a scooped hood).  That being said, why not?  I've always liked the way they looked.  Just get a set of dimensions, cut a piece of cardboard the size of the hole in the hood will be, and that should give you an idea of how big/small it's gonna look.  Good luck!Thumbs Up

It might look a little small on a Torino, but I think it'd still be good.  I am pretty sure I have seen a red '73 with a shaker hood before.  I will look through my pics and post if I find it.

Reminds me of this thread from 2010 when somebody had a shaker on a 73 in my area and was trying to pass off as original.  Certainly was not original, but did look good.

if you do go with the shaker, you can use the big block base to compensate for a taller intake,

the big block base is shorter www.fordramair.com

Right, I have seen that yellow car, and it looks good.  I will post the pics for here for future reference since the ads will eventually disappear.
I also found this red one, that I was thinking of.  It was at Barrett Jackson.

I wanted to go that route but I felt the scoop looked on the small side. So I went another option.

69-70 Boss Mustang hood scoop
