Well I have tried everyway from Sunday to make them work but just will not be possible without being able to find a longer shift cable that will fit. So far no luck on that either.
72sport, please drop me a note on how to get hold of you for the Hookers at esoverhage at aol.com

The HKR's are equal length, 1 7/8 and 3" collector.  They work ok at 600hp, but are prolly on the small side.  Their flanges are pass car port but will match the CJ heads with some grinding.

Thanks for the pics!!

Jim,

For street use, which would work better (460cid +/- 400hp), the equal length, smalled dia Hooker units or the unequal length, larger dia Crites pieces. Also, would the individual port flanges be an asset or hindrance?

Thanks,

JOE

Jim probably missed your question, however being the owner of a set of Hooker Headers I highly recommend them for up to 600 HP as Jim said. The bolts are a tough to work with but they look great when mounted.

I have the Hookers in my car as well. I never had the problems you guys are describing with the bolt holes not lining up. I found these to be the best fitting headers I've ever used (out of 4 or 5 different vehicles). NO ground clearance issues at all, IMO.

Sorry, I did miss the question but agree with the HKR recommendation.  Though the 2" Crites pieces would work just as well IMO..   I just like the one piece flange of the HKR's, but the seperate flanges of the Crites pieces would help with any potential line up issues..

Thanks all! The reason I was asking is that I have a used set of Hookers and there are a few tubes that are pretty banged up and was wondering if I would be better off repairing the 6126's or buy a new set from Charles.

Looks like I'll be going the repair route....

Thanks again!!
