Good day!
I am a new member and am excited to join the forum! I am the proud owner of a 74 Gran Torino 2-door which I am restoring with my son. I'm currently trying to source a roof skin and a set of doors in good condition since the originals would require a substantial amount of sheet metal work to restore. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The only doors I found so far are from a Ranchero of the same year on car-part.com. If anyone can confirm interchangeability that would be great too! i have that stuff but i'm in washington state, and shipping large items has been near impossible lately
 but yes 72-76 ranchero doors will fit , just swap the glass as they use different glass! welcome BTW!  |

Welcome to the forum. You've been upgraded to a new member so you have full forum access. As John stated the doors are interchangeable with a Ranchero, but the glass is different.

72-76 torino bolt on fit
72-76 ranchero doors the same you need your glass. watch out for power windows vs manual the glass is different at the bottom to make clearance for the power window motor. you can get away with using a power window glass in a manual door but not the other way around! Hope this helps.

Okay, really, the manual glass cannot be used with power window actuators etc? i have two pairs of glass, I guess I will need another most likely.

i've never checked but sal and carl both reversed the actuators and said the regular glass will clear....

Do you mean the window regulators? I found a pair of NOS regulators many years ago, and the rebuilt Ford window motors used to be easy to get, and about $35 each back then.

yeah from what i understood they swapped regulators side for side and the glass just clears the motors??? idk if they had to mount them upside down or what idk???

Thanks, that is interesting. I'll want to look into that earlier on, in case I need to hunt other window glass. I bought spares 25+ years ago from a later Ranchero, two with no scratches in them.
