Yea, no luck there in those two location either. Like I said, I'm not the first monkey to swing in this tree, so the banana I was looking for has already been eaten Cry  Oh well, no big deal, nothing particularly special about this car anyway, just would have been neat to have.

No more rusty bondo filled trunk lid.

I also filled in the holes for the "FORD" lettering as they will not be going back on.

Sanded out all the old Bondo and surface rust. Not sure why there was so much Bondo, I only found a few little indentions along the curve where the trunk was closed hard or something. Heated them up and flash cooled them and they popped right out, Cool! Skim coat of glaze and all gone.

Well, not the best looking ride, but it's free of all dents and dings and most importantly BODY RUST! What wasn't completely replaced, was cut out and fabbed back in. Back side of panels sealed and coated. Now time for an overall sanding, sealing, build primer and an all over blocking.

A few years back a deer jumped in front of my Jeep and bent some things up, I saved the fender. Now my Torino has a little bit of my jeep added to it Wink  could come in handy if I need to go off roading LOL

Telling from those mirrors it'll look incredible when it's painted! Shocked
Copper is just an awesome color. Reminds of the 67 Mustang GT390 a good friend of mine had in Burnt Amber Heart

Paint is going a little slower than expected, but hopefully soon. Meanwhile, I have been working on everything else so that when the painting is done all else will go quickly (hopefully). The little stuff adds up so it's good to have time for those. No time is wasted.

Is that an original color? Judging from the mirrors it looks like the color I painted my vette

Outstanding color. That car will be beautiful when it is done. The fender you got from me was off my 1975 Sport (think it was a similar shade), so I can envision what mine would have looked like if I had not scrapped it.

No,not the original color, and not the atomic orange on the vettes, but it is close. It's actually a 2002 ford color, they put it on the ranger P/U. Basically you use large metallic flakes instead of medium and you get what PPG calls copper head metallic.

The cool thing about that fender Joe, is that it was an exact color match to the rest of the car. At the time I was just thrilled to find a limited rust fender. The color was just a bonus. Thanks Joe!
