Saginaw boxes all have the same bolt pattern on the case to the frame. Apparently 92-98 Jeep Grand Cherokees have a 3:1 ratio.. OEM! And these boxes are CHEAP! Chevelle guys have been doing this upgrade for years! The box DOES have metric fittings, but that's easily fixed with some adapters. I haven't investigated if the rag joint coupler for our cars will fit the jeep box, or what is needed, nor have I looked into the pitman arm splines.
HOWEVER. http://www.chevelles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=266171&page=2
This might be a good way to upgrade, and save a few hundred dollars. |

I'd appreciate an update. The Torino may be manual, but the Ranchero isn't.

Nope. I have no need to try this, my Cougar has a Mustang box. Looking at a Jeep gear it "should" work, however.

If I get a chance next week when I'm off work I'll stop by the yard I deal with a see if there are any Jeeps there that I can grab one for a test fit. If I do get one I'll do a photo and measurement post soon.
Stay tuned.
