John, I am thinking that you are doing this for the same reason I do.

Hint: Does it involve a drill?

oh ok, you guys surprise spoilers!!! (i'll bet ya'll were just awful the night before xmas!)LOL
drill??? you lost me there joe???
randy, no but the thought did cross my mind!
the doors were aligned good before it took them off, so i drilled a small hole first then drilled that out for a small roll pin, so they should be damn close on reassembly (the bottom on the rear pass. door sits in a little which it did before, i may do a little tweeking to the top of the quarter jam area see if that helps, it may be the door???  but the plan for this is to align the doors and fenders, then  spray black base for the stripe, then use my oldschool overhead projector to project an outline of the stripe onto the car play around with that until i get it just right to suit me, then lay down some fineline tape for the black pinstripe, mask off of that spray the white, then the stripe is laid out ! remove the doors and fenders, mask the stripe and spray the red, unmask and wrap the whole thing in several coats of clear! cut and buff, set the body back on the frame (ever so carefully!) major hurdle completed!!! tons of parts can go back on!!!! then i'll have space in the booth to do the same on the doors (stripe is already aligned) then doors buffed and can go on, then the same with the fenders. make sense now (no reverse masking of door jams etc. or dry spray in the hard to reach jams and hinges, etc.) it may be a little more work now, but it will go smoother later and i don't have to mask paint wetsand and buff the whole car all at once (there's a narrow window to buff before it cures completely) is this starting to make more sense now?

John, that was what I meant about the drill. I drill that same hole when aligning the panels a final time prior to painting. Eliminates alignment scars on the bolt holes, panels, etc.
