I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ENVIOUS of you guys who have your cars at home and can work on them when you have a few spare minutes! While having mine at a dealership is nice from time to time, I loose a LOT of spare hours when the shop is closed and I can't get in! Cry

Hey Johnny, what did you end up using for your alignment specs?  Might be useful for other guys running a lot of rake.

Did you ever try that carburetor vaporizer add on?

vince: just got the 600 DP carb installed haven't driven it yet crappy rainy Angry i want to drive it and check the fine tuning on the new carb then add the vaporizer plate so i can see if there is a difference. the alignment was set at caster pos. 2.7* camber -0.2* toe at total 0.19*( which is probably 1/16"?) i think he could have got more but for some reason his ford hook things wouldn't quite fit in the frame holes ( i'm thinking layer of rust and paint) so he used some smaller ones for a foreign car? so they may not have had long enough threads to tilt and hold the cross shaft??? it drives fine now so that's all i'm concerned with no twitchy crap! camber is close to zero and toe as well so it won't eat tires Wink

ok, today the weather was decent enough to road test and tune the carb today Big smile
i did 4 or 5 runs out on the open road with the 600 DP seems good... i did notice a very slight flat spot at less than 1/4 throttle very very minor!
so then i installed this powerblast plate and retried it 4 or 5 times again... it did seem to have a little smoother transition now!
is it worth the $40??? IDK but what the hell i've spent money on other parts over the years that either didn't work out or never got used or scrapped or traded or sold Confused

since my 600 DP carb is manual choke i searched around and found some cool braided stainless choke cables Wink ( i just didn't really want to use the normal steel lawnmower style cable, with all the cool stuff under the hood Big smile) so it arrived tonight so it got installed Thumbs Up

today i took a leap of faith and cringed a bit and took a hole saw to my nice paint in preparation for the remote mirror! actually cutting the door hole wasn't bad doing it from inside the door, my cordless drill fit pretty good from inside the door to cut that hole, then the outside of the door, still have to cut one more hole in the dash yet, and strip the mirror and prime, paint, and clear it Big smile

I was with you in spirit, doing anything with sharp objects around finish paint is scary!
Wacko
Where did you put the cable hole in the door hinge area, Is it level with the hole on the body's hinge surface hole?
Thanks

there is a hole through the body straight through from the top of the kick panel (i think the antennae goes through it, between the hinges) if your door or fender is off there is a little center punch dimple where to drill the door below the upper hinge! but since my car was all together i couldn't access the door jam area to drill... so i pulled the panel and looked inside there is a 1" hole through the hinge reinforcement structure, you just need the drill through the outer metal Wink
