I went to the largest car show in the Boston area and there were thousands of cars. Only one Torino.

with all this covid -19 B.S. going around... most all car shows have been canceled so many local towns have started having simple cruises... you can't keep car guys down
so i took the torino out friday night after i got off of work, work's been hectic last couple days...trying to get a steering column finished for my buddy... and they got a car program started and want to have me featured in it then we'll just tie it in with the cruise ok i'm game (well trying to shoot video, do an interview, cars revving up, people walking in front of the camera, numerous retakes) then the second part to film on saturday... many retakes, lost audio on one part... you guessed it! another retake from the start then both of us at different times forget what we were talking about yep, more retakes and i was originally on my way to a family bbq a few hours before ... so in the middle of filming my phone goes off ( a couple of times BTW) well after several hours... i think we got it so here it is... (i think it turned out pretty well all things considered) |

That is an awesome video John! You guys did a great job making it. If you're back on the show with some of your other cars, make sure you post it for us to see.

As long as it was a good time, that's all that counts. Beats the hell out of the snow.

today... went to ship some parts off, p.o. had a fill in lady and she didn't have the codes for the damn scale so i came home and pulled my cluster to finally install the white face gauges, killing time until the p.o. 15 miles away opens, everybody and their brother stopping by and texting got the parts off come home to try to get the cluster back in... you guessed it! more distractions got it back in and finally everything hooked back up! just in time to try it out at the local cruise night... pics later...

the white really helps to see the gauges in the sunlight since they are down a long dark tunnel, but i used red led's since the car is red which also didn't help when they were black now they are brighter but hard to see the stupid orange needles at night

I like the new back ground's, but the lighting for any old cars is tough to get as nice as the latest modern stuff. LED's help a ton, and they take a lot of thought to achieve the brightness and color coverage you want. Keep going, it gives everyone ideas. I haven't begun to think of anything to change for lighting, I'll see what my new 73 looks like soon. I haven't driven one of these since the late 80's. This new truck evidently has everything working except the clock. BTW, how does the AC control(heat slide control) adjust the temperature? Mine has just heat(coming from NV), but I'll do something about that. I ask because a forum member on the Corral just bought a little old Toyota sedan, and he's installed a temperature probe/device in the AC clutch circuit. Now his temperature is maintained by the device that turn the clutch on and off at a set temperature range. That sounds like a good method to obtain good cabin temps without playing with the main control much.
