today i added green LED's to the dash cluster and pulled the pioneer cd player out to add this $8 adapter to add an auxiliary ipod input to the older pioneer stereo that didn't have an aux input! now i don't need to replace that stereo
super easy to do BUT you must program the setting in the stereo for it to work!!! but super easy to do here's a video i found showing how to do it... (btw he has the same exact stereo i have) but it should work on any pioneer supertuner if it has the blue 10 pin ip bus receptacle in the back |

a few days ago i swapped out the original Mitsubishi distributor for an mid 80's ranger dist. as i suspected the Mitsubishi cheap coil of wire style pick up reluctor may be starting to fail like it did back in the mid 90's... so with some wiring from an 80's f150 generously donated by pick n pull i wired the ranger dist. to an accel GM HEI module mounted to a custom aluminum heat sink on the fenderwell and an aftermarket 50k coil
runs good but now i need to upgrade the electric fuel pump, as i also upgraded the carb from a 32mm to a syncronized dual 38mm! is runs out of fuel in the carb midway through a third gear burnout |

brief updates: a couple weeks ago i upgraded the electric fuel pump on the courier... yep that was it! i was able to do a burnout in first..second..third..and fourth gear
finally stopped procrastinating and replaced the weak clutch in the nissan with a stage 2, 6 puck ceramic disc and stronger pressure plate now to find the miss at idle... 260K does have me concerned |

ok some recent updates: finally figured out the miss in the sentra... after a new distributor (not the problem) and a clogged #4 injector, dried to clean it and while energizing it smoke came out of it so i ordered 1 from the parts store but picked up on when i was in another town, replaced it... working good, next day missing again #2 intermittently working, went to the local parts store to get the one they ordered they ordered 2 so i grabbed 1 installed it (used way too much grease on the o-rings so it was smoking blue for a few mins) drove to town to get another bottle of 75/25, run great until i got back and pulled into the local parts store to tell them... started missing real bad and i could smell gas ( it was coming out the tail pipe) so i got the extra one they ordered to swap it out for warrantee now you know why i hate EFI!!!
so far it still working good! we'll see...... so onto the courier... a few weeks back i had issues with the drivers rear wheel heating up, cleaned and lubed the Ebrake cable, new brakes, took it for a 50 mile cruise with the group out to a town at the very west end of our county, out of habit i checked the rear wheel, hot again knowing it not the brakes this time it has to be the wheel bearing? ok fast forward to last saturday... on my way to the cruise night and local mini truck photo shoot, as well as a quick stop on the way for another brock's garage filming... everyone's waiting... get a block down my road boom it just dies hmm seems that the module died got a ride back home grabbed the cheap bad one from the garage and throw it on... fires up, i take off got almost into town it dies again turned the key off and restart it and go some more... dies several times in the next few mile to the filming location, after that my buddy john says he has one at home i can try well it dies like 7 times across town get to his house and put his on, fires up and runs great, so i decide to continue on to the cruise and photo shoot later... not an issue there and back ok i figured may i need to improve on my heat sink design and over build it for extra insurance that brings me to this week...go to the parts store and ask if the premium module is lifetime guarantee??? they said YES and the first crappy one has a 1 year on it so i found the box and returned it but being master fabricator... i took a old computer fan that runs 12VDC and mounted it above the new module to help cool it which BTW worked great this last sat night as the cruise was 109* that evening |

BTW i forgot to mention i think the real issue with 3 modules was the fact i later discovered the positive wire to the coil had came out of the connector ( probably more chinese made stuff with a serious lack of quality control
)
and i still need to pull the rear axels and pack those bearings with grease... ( yes you read that correctly! after some research i've found that those run in grease much like front bearing do ) IDK never messed with the diff in the 30 years i've owned it.... |

Nice find John! I love the 7.3 Navistar diesels (especially the Turbos), great engines. I am assuming yours would be non-turbo based on the year (I think 1994 was the first year).

Yeah, IDI - Indirect Injection. They did make a 7.3L Turbo IDI breifly around 1994 before the Powerstrokes came out. My buddy had a 1994 F-250 with a 7.3 IDI turbo. It was a great truck, tons of pulling power and not as loud as the Powerstrokes.
