My 72 GTS 351C 4V has a noisy timing chain.  It was replaced by the previous owner 15,000 miles ago as a part of an engine rebuild.  According to the documentation, the crank was ground 10/thousands under.  I saw on Jegs that there are timing chain sets available for .005 and .010 under.  Is this something I should consider?  These are my Cam Specs, I don't know much about them, but am doing some research.  Any tips would be appreciated.

if the crank journals were ground then you should have appropriately thicker main bearings to make up for the ground crank, so the distance between the crank centerline and the cam centerline should remain the same, possibly the chain may be sloppy due to a cheap chain, stretching ???

what you've found are timing sets for blocks that have been 'line bored' or 'line honed'

in this process the crankshaft becomes closer to the cam centerline, so a std timing set will be loose. the line hone timing sets should not fit a block that hasn't been line honed, they'd be too tight

if you find that a std timing set chain has some slop in it, measure the deflection & get the correct line hone set

Crane 272H10 is a good mild street cam, will work with a stock torque converter, gears & exhaust
