The halogen lights supposedly pull/require a little more amperage than the older bulbs, thus they were brighter. The extra amperage required made the internal circuit breaker of the headlight switch to "trip", which usually caused the headlights to blink on and off then go out for a while until the internal circuit breaker would cool off enough to reset itself. If you want to use the brighter Halogens, just wire in some 30/40 amp Bosch style relays to both the low beam and high beam headlight circuits, very easy to do and will handle ANY 4x6 headlight amperage. Want to put them in my 79.Had them in 78 high beam lights would go out.Not an elect person. Any one know what to do and how.Was told it was a relay issue?
