My brother is changing the front corner pieces on his car and the new pieces need to be matched to the car. The car is a metallic paint job, base/clear. The body shop is saying that with the new water based paints they won't be able to match the paint?
Is this true? I had my rear valance repainted this winter with water based paint and it looks pretty bang on to the old single stage enamel? Maybe metallics are different? |

not sure, matching paint should be basically the same process for any type i would think, i don't use water base paint (well except for house paint) not a fan! but a good automotive paint supply store should be able to match it close, plus a little tinting to allow for fade
