Is anyone familiar with installing a Modular Ford drivetrain (4.6 SOHC, AOD) in a 1968-69 Fairlane/Torino? What all is going to be available OTC and what will need to be fabricated? Thanks!

It should be the same (or substantially the same) as installing into 67-70 mustang. (66-69 falcon, fairlane/torino and 67-70 mustang are the generally same front suspension/engine compartment)
Mod motors are wider than a FE or a 429/460, and a 390 will have the manifolds right up to the spring towers. Mod motors are rear sump, which interferes with the steering
Spring towers will have to go, so plan on a new front suspension, convert to rack-n-peanut steeringto make room for the sump and help the handling. Maybe 2003-up crown vic/gran monkey crossmember/suspension?
No matter what you do, it's gonna need a bit of remodeling...
Good luck and post a lot of pix

Well, if that is the case, I'll just stick with a conventional drivetrain. Dammit, I am never going to find anything to use those two 4.6 drivetrains in, LOL.

I've seen it in person and the car is BEYOND bad ass and workmanshop/quality is second to none. But what do you expect from a guy that works for Roush in Detroit?

I put a 2000 4.6 cobra DOHC mated to a 4R70W (cobras didn't have autos) in a 67 mustang ragtop. Lots of work! Everything had to be fabricated. It was real cool when done and got tons of attention. Got pics somewhere. Lots of dollars thrown into it. Won't do that again...

That is an awesome build. Incredible detail and ingenuity.

I don't see myself doing that much work to our car, since there are so many other projects on my plate. The Cougar will have to be modified for the drivetrain I bought for it (complete re-do of the engine compartment and rear suspension) so I don't relish doing that twice.
