Does anyone know what the trick is to remove the glove box latch from the glove box door?  It has two bolts on the back which are easily removed, but it can't through the hole because of the knob?  I know there must be something simple to get this off.

IIRC there's a tab that will release the tension, like the wiper knob

I was unable to add captions with the pictures so I'll try here.
1st is the knob showing the spring on the back.
2nd is the spring and knob together.
3rd they are separate.
You will have to remove the two screws/bolts from the back of the door.  Then it can be moved untill you can see the spring from the front.  Reach behind the spring with a small screwdriver and flatten it to the rear of the knob(towards the front of the glove box).  A little wd-40 couldn't hurt.

In the first post I was thinking of the wiper knob which I removed on the same day---
sorry.
