I'm sure there's a place to find my answer on here, but I'm new to the site, and unable to find my answer. I have a 74 Gran Torino Brougham that I have changed over to a Starsky, and Hutch car. I had a 76 limited edition that was in very bad shape. I kept all of the interior from it, and scrapped the rest. I just got my 74 back from the bodyshop, and I'm putting it back together now. I have my floor shifter installed, and the linkage hooked up, but I'm still trying to figure out how to do the NSS. I changed the front of the steering column from the plastic collar out to the steering wheel. I have changed nothing else. I dont have the wiring harness from the LE car. Can I tie into the column harness with the floor harness? If so can anyone help me out with this problem. I'm not sure about the colors on the wires. The floor shifter colors are different from the column shifter colors. I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure it out. Please help anyone. Thanks for your time, and help.

Your going to have to fab a harness from the column neutral switch on the 74 to the floor shifter of the 76. 1st thing is to get a wiring book for the 74. next is to see if the part number for a 74-76 floor shifter neutral switch is the same. I believe the switches to be the same, but not sure. now comes the fun part, you need to figure out the circuitry to adapt from the column neutral to the floor neutral switch.  you definitely need the electrical book!

Tighten it down until it snaps and then back it off a half turn!

a multi meter set to continuity will be helpful too, and maybe a test light as well. there will be power in and out for the reverse lights and power in and out for park and neutral for the starter solenoid

Thanks for the info. What about the wire colors, the 74 column has different color wires then the 76 floor shifter. Is there a certain color match up that you can use. I dont want to sound dumb about this, I just don't want to burn my Torino to the ground either. All of this helps me out so its greatly appreciated.

Thanks Steve
