Hi,
Are power windows on 72 GTS rare?
Is this a rare option?
I haven't seen any with power windows

about 15 yrs ago I replaced the window regulators in my 73 gts with the electric window assy from a 78 ranchero  fits right in---   use nyloc nuts when you bolt the new brace in and / or blue loctite . the door panels will need to be cut where the old hand crank knob is /was   measure twice before you cut -- then check it again,  good luck

Nice, I like high options, upgrades etc.

I just bought power window regulators last week since I'm not sure I ever got them 25 years ago, when I did buy the wiring from a 75 Cougar. I found the wiring, and I have so much lost extra stuff that I didn't look more for the regulators.

I'm planning to place the window switches in the console, just like my Mark VII, and use those same 84-92 black window switches.

If there's enough space behind the door panel where the hand cranks are, I'll place the door lock switches there, also from a Mark VII(subtle black switches).

I noticed that the power door lock option is a weird passive push the knob down and the other door will also lock or unlock. Phht, that's no good, even though I located two NOS door lock latches/actuators.

If the OEM door latch is the common mount type that is still used into the 90's, I'll make a 95-01 Explorer latch work. Those have the door ajar sensor built in(fill the hole in the jamb and toss that switch away). The Mark VII door actuators are very compact, and quieter than the Explorer actuators, it's the same part as most 80's and early 90's Fords, Fox Mustang type if you know those.

BTW, what seats are those? I'm not sure the OEM buckets will be okay wen I get finished. I used to eye the 86.5-90ish Toyota Supra seats, leather, but those are all torn up in the few I've seen before. Regards,
Don

Procar. Seats bought from summit racing. I used the factory seat tracks and bolted them to the seat using some flat stock. The position I mounted them gives you a lot of leg room compared to factory.

Very nice, a good choice and they look softer than some others that they sell. I bought a pair of something similar to put into my Mercury, and they are a little stiff(fake leather).
