besides counting the valve cover bolts....is there any other way to know if i have a 429 engine? intending to purchase a '72 that has had a "big block'' installed and owner can't prove it. all he knows is what the last guy who sold it told him.....the picture i asked for is not clear.

Less wind resistance and easier to change the oil pump.

so i finally got some more info on this engine....cast # just above the starter is D1VE 8015 AA and the cast numbers on the heads are D0VE-C. problem i'm having is finding a clutch kit for this apparently '71 Lincoln Continental, that obviously was a auto tranny before someone put a flywheel on it. The disc is 11.5" and the pressure plate bolts with 3 groups 2 bolts. Any thoughts!!!!!!
