Hey guys,

Does anyone know the name of the piece that is mounted right under the back window, above the storage compartment area, and it has the holes in it that the seat belts go through. It looks like its made of some kind of compressed paper or fiber board.

Only reason I ask is because mine is damaged, and I want to find a replacement.

Btw I have a 72 ranchero gt

That's awesome, because I need one of those too, but that's a different part than I'm looking for. This piece I'm looking for is right below the back window, runs from one side of the cab to the other, and has the shoulder part of the seat belts running thru it, and then they bolt to the rear wall.

That is the same part, it just don't have the cutouts for the shoulder belts, you will have to cut them. I 'm not sure if they have the perforations on the backside of them to do that. And you will have to form them,to fit the contour of the back panel (they should have the creases in them to do that). The main thing is if you have a Squire or GT model, you will have to make the vinyl flaps as this repop don't have them, nor did the Ranchero 500 models.

I have the complete one I pulled out of the '72 Ranchero GT I parted out a couple of years ago. It has a thin metal strip that goes along the top, and the shoulder belts do go through it. Even has the tire change decal believe. If you want it, you can have it. Just come get it, LOL.

Nice find, I'm bookmarking these links for later. Mine is also a bit rough, and hopefully the original hole trim(aluminum I think) will come off and swap to the newer part when the hole is cut for it.
