Lookin' good. Do the adjustments to the front, & see if the back comes up some. From the pics, it looks like the front has bigger springs or spacers in there. Definitly higher than stock.

wow, 2" that really was sitting up there! i cut a half a coil off mine so maybe someone had already cut some on mine prior to me getting it, but i couldn't see any evidence of cutting, so they must have done a good job if they fooled me! looks good

looks good.
COULD cut more off the front if you wanted. BUT, what are you doing to the rear? You were talking about raising it a little? |

Yes, I'm waiting for the rear cargo springs to arrive from Montreal, hopefully tomorrow. In the mean time I went ahead and lowered the front....might as well keep busy. ..The rear springs will finish the appearance package. Then I do the stereo install, and POR 15 the frame. And that's all folks. At least for this year, 4 barrel carb will be installed next spring, though there's a slight chance I may do it this summer.

Look's way better Paul! I knew that front end looked high in your pics. I bet the front springs were replaced sometime in it's life. I find a lot of the factory replacement aftermarket springs sit too high out of the box. I think your rear is still a little lower than stock. I am sure once you get the cargo coils in, the stance will be much better.

Thanks, me too. I suspect the rear coils are original, and compressed after 40 years.

What Cargo Coils did you use? This is Lola on the Wagon CC, the Tallest in that list I sent you
here she is full raked... WAY LOW in the nose and will come up an inch or 2 when I swap out the 400 and tuck the front bumper or I will swap out front springs. BTW, those are 275/60/15 rear. Edited by Regul8r - 23-June-2015 at 10:45AM |

I used Lincoln Mark V trailer tow springs on the back of my Red (79) ranchero those would give plenty of lift!

This is Mark V rear springs, constant rate MOOG 8223, 225/70-15 front, 255/70-15 rear.
MOOG 8543 would lift another inch or so... Significant rake, not cartoonish though... and still rides/drives good

Looking good Paul! Make sure if you lift the car more that you don't over extend the shocks. Some of the other guys will have suggestions on which shocks have more travel.

I have a new set of springs in the back of fastback that have about the same clearance as yours. If I recollect correctly they were 1 1/2" higher than stock and 188 pounds per inch versus 166. I thought they'd give me the rake without the 2" spacers that were under the original springs but this seem a bit too high for my liking. I might try the 188's at a stock height.

Get the back springs and shocks in and see how it sits before you cut your fronts, raising the back will affect the front height.

I'm out of town right now, will be back on Tues. I will call the guy I'm dealing with to find out if his buddy made those custom rear springs, and I'll go from there. But I will work with just the rear end right now.

I personally think the way your car sits now is perfect, but I don't realty like cars with too much rake. Good luck on the stereo install. |

Not much,,,,,stance is set for now as I think about it. Going to my brother's tomorrow to do the stereo install. Also, I noticed the lettering on my rear tires is a bit brownish. I called the tire shop and they gave me some advice as how to clean them, they also offered to do it if I came in. But the shop is 90 minutes away so I'll tackle it myself...Getting lots of thumbs up though.
