What is the largest tank made for our cars?
I read on a post on FB, his car had a 30 gallon tank and THINKS it came from a Ranchero.
Looking to confirm if true, what year so I can go look for 3 of them for the Rally Car!
If I can get over 75 gallons in the car and pull 20mpg then it is a ONE STOP run from NYC to LA!
I believe 26 in the Elite but that extra 12 gallons with three 30 gallon tanks may make a HUGE difference.

That's around 750 pounds of extra weight too. Might not help your fuel mileage.

With supplies, extra parts, 3 tanks and 2 people...all going 70+ miles per hour in a Torino, I am thinking you'll get more like 10 to 12 miles per gallon. Most likely looking at about 200 horses pushing 6,000 pounds in a decidedly non-aerodynamic box, so 20 mpg may be optimistic.

That much weight will clusterf*ck your handling and braking. Also, do you REALLY want that much fuel onboard in an accident??? I have a 29-30 gallon tank in my T-bird, but that fills on the side.

May look at the 29/30 gallon tank by itself.
The 1 stop fuel thing is really just a pipe dream and talking out my arse!
I have a small Fuel Cell I can add inside the trunk to use as a reserve.
Put a manual valve on it to drain in to the filler neck of the main tank.
Probably accessible from the cabin.

ALEX, Climb back there and give us more juice we are fuming right now bro!

So do ALL the 77-79 cars have the 29/30 gallon tank?
I am actually interested in putting in the side fuel set up like Allan did so nothing is flowing out the butt!

The bigger tank was an option in some of the 77-79 cars. 21 gallons was standard.
