I'm wanting to respray the torino but can't decide on a colour.....the inside is being done with u pol raptor bed liner as its a tough wearing paint plus it deadens sound and flexi slightly so it won't crack or chip easily. Sound proofing will stick to it with a bit of extra glue too

I was thinking of using the same stuff on the outside for a stealth look....but if anyone has any better ideas for a 73 then please pipe up.
It's not that I don't like the original White but it looks shagged and whites a pain to keep clean...

if you don't hate Midnite Blue, Chip Foose did a car with a color that looks Black until you hit it with a strong light & it shows to be a very deep Blue Pearl

it may be a Nissan factory color IIRC

Honda also made a similar paint color like you are describing. The color is called: "midnight blue pearl". The color code is: B518P.

It was mostly used on the 2003-2007 Honda Odyssey's. But I have also seen it on other 2003-2007 honda vehicles. When the car is not in direct sunlight, it appears to be black in color. Like the passenger side of the Odyssey in the picture below.

But when the same exact paint color is in direct sunlight, you can see that the color is actually blue. Like in the pictures below.

I had a guy that rented my booth that rolled the outside of his Nissan truck in a drab green rhino liner type paint. He did the flares, bumpers, grill, and other parts in a gray rhino liner.
Looked pretty cool.

That elite looks a bit off to me colour wise but I do like the colour on the bike!

Trying to work out what will cost the least to do, liner is about £100 for the paint and thinners but as it dries textured I'll find it difficult to stick decals to....I'm also tempted to go black roof, trunk and hood with red doors, wings and quarters or all black/dark blue with some white striping. It's just an issue finding decent pictures of them to see what it looks like.....other than that landrover Stornaway grey is tempting me as a colour with some black stripes down the centre

(I did find a chevelle in a lovely mid metallic blue but I have no idea if a torino could pull it off)

I too like the bike color better. I want something near that, not so close to a purple level, and darker than the medium blue like that background car above.

It should hopefully be able to pull off the white stripes too although I've seen the same car with black stripes and it looks real nice!

Will probably strip off the chrome body trim on the doors and quarters too and just keep the arch ones

The color of that chevelle appears to be General Motors "Cobalt Blue". It was used many 2003 through 2006 general motors vehicles. The G.M. paint code is: WA885K. There are few pictures of that color below.

This color is also available in candy colors. The car below was painted with house of kolor orion silver base (color code: BC-02), then it was topcoated with house of kolor cobalt blue candy (color code: UK-05).

As you know, different automotive paint companies have different color codes for the cobalt blue paint color, but they are all the same exact (non-candy) cobalt blue color.

The PPG/Ditzler color code for the cobalt blue color is: 6140

The Dupont color code for the cobalt blue color is: P4989

The Sherwin Williams color code for the cobalt blue color is: 64749

But these are not "Candy" color codes, like the house of kolor paint codes listed in the last post above this one.

Food for thought... Scans of 30+ year old pics don't do it justice, but this was my '74 Sport, circa 1981. Two-toned it with '76 Cadillac colors (#2748, 'Commodore Blue Poly & #2772, 'Innsbruck Blue Poly'). Masked/counter-masked the colors and dividing pinstripes then clear-coated the whole thing. The finish looked a mile deep. Looked kind of 'moody' at dusk and low light, but really 'popped' in the sunlight and at night under street lights.

Pic of a two-toned '72 I found on the web a year or two, ago. Really like this one, too!

Oooh I do like that! I think it'll be a case of see how it looks once I've jacked up the rear and fitted the new wheels all round then paint it :)

Reckoning the candy blue may soften it a little look wise and the black would make it look more aggressive/stealthy!

The car in the picture below was painted in "Dodge Viper Blue", it should give you a good idea on how yours will look after being painted.
