Hello everyone, my name is Luke, I am 17 and I'm a young aspiring Ford Ranchero owner from the other side of the pond!, I have been on this forum since the end of December and have been active on the Facebook group since I brought my Ranchero the end of last year, I thought it was about time I introduced myself!

I acquired my 1972 Ford Ranchero Squire just before Christmas of 2014. I have always wanted a classic American muscle car, before owning my dream car I had a 1985 Pontiac Trans am that I had brought to fix up and have as a summer car that I could take to shows in the future, but after talking to insurance companies about running it and I wouldn't be able to insure it until I was at least 23/25 so I thought I'd sell it and start looking for something older as a project that I could build over the years bit by bit until I was able to drive it legally!, so after a month of selling the Trans Am I was browsing my rockabilly car club that I attend every second Wednesday of every month that has loads of classic cars attending (one which is a 1973 Ford Gran Torino Sport!!), I saw a advert for a 72 Ranchero Spares or Repairs as it was "too far gone" bodywork wise, I adore the 72 front end whether it's on a Torino or a Ranchero (I didn't have much knowledge about the ranchero at that point), so I went to have a look at it with a guy who owns a 70 Dodge Charger R/T and the 73 Torino owner, so we saw the car and the owner was quoted £4000 on welding!, we had a look at it and the car was pretty much solid! the pickup bed has minor patches of rust and it needs floor pans but that's it pretty much!, so I brought the car for £2000 which I think is a steal!

I'm looking forward to being in this community of large sized Ford's!!!!

Welcome.  My first Ranchero was a green '72 Squire. Do you have any of the Squire trim for her? If not, & you want to put the trim back on, that could be like looking for the ''Holy Grail''

What do you mean by the Squire trim??, if your talking about the wooden panels that go along the side of the pic-up then no I don't have it, if I was restoring it to original I would put it back on, I'm restomodding it so I'm not adding it but it has a gold stick on decal that went around the wooden panels, I'm considering adding a gold outline to the stripe I want on the car

I live in the West Midlands, it's pretty much the central area of England, so it's not for to Wales/Scotland and its about 100 miles to London!
