Hi, I own 1976 ranchero (for 12 years), 72 gts fastback (8), 73 gt 4 door (for parts), and 79 ranchero (4). So like I said I'm not new to the sport of owning old fords. I'm just looking to expand my info on the 72-79 intermediate fords; and to track down hard to find parts. Thanks for letting me join.

Welcome to the forum! You'll find a lot of us have been into the sport for years. The internet is a great thing, because it helped me to realize that I wasn't crazy and there were lots of guys and gals into the 72-79 Ford intermediates. Share your knowledge, ask questions, and share pictures if you got some. You'll find we are like junkies when it comes to pics... lol

Welcome to the forum. We'd love to see your Torino/Ranchero porn, I mean pics.  Since we don't see many of the cars that we love at car shows, we are always wanting to see what the other guys have. Tongue

Well like I said thanks for letting me join the Ford madness. I,all try to get some pictures of the family. There nothing spectacular,'diamonds in the rough' the 76 started as a project that I daily drove and flauged on the drag strip some Friday nights for 8 years straight. Nothing fast really but for the weight and the gearing its OK. So its a little beat down. Its been in storage for some years know, until I can get my duck back in order.   The 72 sport is a rough all original without the drive train. I've slowly been getting parts up for it the whole time I've had it. The 79 ranchero gt is a good all original that I bought with a nocking engine, pulled engine and been moving it around ever since. What can I say life happens. 73 4 door I got for parts for the 72, its a wrecked running driving original with 53,000 miles on a Cleveland so yeah. In the last month I just got a title for the 72 , ' bought it with not title so I didn't want to start some thing that I wasn't sure if I could put it on the road or not'. So I'm in the process of starting that project. I'll keep y'all informed.

What I did was copy part of the image URL you posted like this, leaving off the dimensions because I knew a link ending in .jpg would take me to an image:

I then copied the IMG code off to the right by just clicking it (Photobucket lets you do that instead of highlighting it)

The pasted IMG link, which will turn into an image as soon as you click reply:

I asked because my wagon is also 4S Light Green, and they're fairly uncommon. 70s green, but not the usual 70s green. Welcome to the 4S club as well!

Well anyway the 79 ranch is really in good condition except the front corner lights, and well it was no engine in it right now. The 4 door is my 53,000 mile turn key and run machine. So don't let the looks through you, or the flat ply tires.
If I can figure out this picture situation and get my garage organized this weekend I'll have pictures of the other two.

Well here are my 76 chero and 72 sport. Like I said the sports a little rough but I still see the beauty in it. I haven't been caring it around with me for 8 years for nothing. As soon as I get it moved to the "project" side of the garage I'll start a project post.

The72 was completely stock when I got it down to the 3 out of 4 rusted holes in rim magnum 500. The guy I got it from stored it for years at a friends place, where others I know have stored there cars in the past; but not now. The property owner has a juvenile delinquent son who likes busting windows out and taking wheels of the cars that where stored there. So that is what happened to the windshield and the passenger door glass. When I got the car it still had a partial broken sinder block in the passenger floor board. Through the years of having it I have gathered parts when I could so really I have a real good start on getting back to its glory. Checking the history its been off the road sense 1980. So stay tuned in for the project post.

Ok, it's been a while but I'm back on here. I have been keeping up with some of you on the facebook group. Anyway Was planning on starting my 72 project but other project keep getting in the way. Well I never stop search for these old Fords and ran across a couple since my last post but my money or time wasn't right when I found them. I'm saying all this to say this, I've acquired a 73 gts fastback body just recently to add to the family of other Fords I have. And by doing so has sparked my back to wanting to put one of these back on the road; so I'm going to start this new to me 73. The car is an original Q code 4 speed car. And through the year I have gathered everything to convert my 72 sport in to a 4 speed car so I'm going to put all that in this car. As well as the motor out of my wrecked green 4 door (351c 54,000 mils engine). I'll be starting a build page soon for this build....
