I found this image, but I don't think it is correct.

But the intake on my engine is labeled D5xxxxx, so that tells me it is from a 1975 model year. The above image tells me it is later than a 1977.

Your correct it should be pre 75  for the 16 bolt and 75 and laterfor the 12 bolt... I used to run a 69 factory 4bbl intake on my 74, it won't work on the 75.

Ok. thinking of going 4v carb. Can't locate my intake. Anyone have a choice. Jeggs has one for 189 idle to 6500 rpm. Eld has the performance one for around 300 with gaskets etc.idle to 5500 rpms .What is the difference.

Performer is good off-idle,  the Performer RPM 1500 rpm up. You want a dual-plane intake, and if it has a rear coolant crossover, that's even better. Some intakes for SBF (performer, for one) don't bother with the rear crossover, which may not matter, but the factory put it there for a reason.
Just make sure the manifold is for the right 351. Oh, you can use the early 351W intakes on later 351W heads, just ignore the extra holes. I never tried to use the later intake on earlier heads, I don't know if the holes in the heads are blind (no big deal) or if they go into the water jacket (uh-oh).

actually they go down into the lifter valley, but using a 12 bolt manifold on the 16 bolt heads will work but a guy told me that he did that and later without the extra bolts it leaked coolant into the front intake port and into the cylinder! he told me that if i have the extra bolts to get the 16 bolt manifold, so i did! as far as i know the only available 16 bolt manifold that is somewhat available to find is the offenhauser 360* dual plane, so that's what i got for my car, it fit and works great Big smile i paid $100 on ebay for it Thumbs Up

I ran a weiand stealth on my winsor and got good service out of it .The intake is good from idle to 6000 rpm but I know it will turn a good bit more than that.

I have a 1969 Mach 1 with a built 351W and it has factory 4v heads with a Edelbrock Performer on it with only 12 bolts. Never any problems with it. I built the motor in early 90's.
