The only headers I can find for this are the shorty sanderson headers but they are over 500 bucks. Does anyone know if the 351m headers for a 78 truck will work on a 1974 Torino Elite?

Hi, unfortunately the only direct fit bolt-on headers that fit on this body / engine combo without clearances issues are the hooker super competition headers model 6125HKR which List at $543 this what i had to go with, but somewhat got lucky and found a lightly used set off ebay and saved like $200 maybe you can find a used set or spend the money on the hookers or you can custom make them $$$ if you find another direct bolt-on, please post it!!!

Good luck,

Syl

Yes the info above is correct, I have a set Hooker Super-comps on  my 73 with a 351M-400 in it (don't ask..lol) and the fit is great.

truck headers have way too much drop in the tubes, the collectors would be on the ground if they fit in the chassis at all

351M & 400 are virtually indistinguishable from the outside, they use the same headers
if you have the valve cover decal read it carefully, it will specifically list the displacement separate from the engine family
