Anybody mess with intakes? I'm wondering what will fit under the stock hood. RPM? Airgap maybe? Thanks in advance

I have the air gap. It fits with stock air cleaner and hood scoop hood. Will not fit with the factory ram air. That is for a 72. -Rick-

you say "stock" hood, do you mean the flat hood? or the sport hood with the scoop?
i have a 351W with a offenhauser and a 1/2" phenolic spacer with a holley on top of that with a aftermarket oval filter (2" tall?) and that all clears the scooped hood fine! |

not for a 78 T-bird. Your car just has the flat stock hood. The only midsize car that would have a raised or scooped hood would be the 72 torino sport and the 72-73 Montego GT. All the others are flat

big air cleaner with performer intake and edelbrock carb on a 302 was a bit of an issue on my 79 T-bird.
of course, a drop-base that fit the edelbrock carb would have helped... |
