Thanks. Does anyone know what the cross country suspension package included in 1974? Also under the hood appears to be all original except the carb has been replaced. The engine is the 351 CJ. There is no sign of any smog equipment ever being present. Did the q codes not have a smog pump?

Thanks,David

Q-codes did not have air-pumps for emissions. In fact no cleveland had an air pump! Only the modifieds and 400's. Cross country package had stiffer shocks and bigger swaybar as i recall.

That's weird. I just sold an all original 74 xr7 that had one. It had the H code engine. David

I guess what I took off was a smog pump. It was belt driven and had a hose coming off of it that had what looked like a canister. There was a tube that went across the back of the intake and curved down into the intake at both ends. There was a t joint where a hose from the pump attached. I removed all this stuff when I installed an edelbrock intake. Kinda messy looking but here is an after pic.

Nice find!  I really really need to get some pics of my 76 parts/driver up here.  It's a welders special now but was pretty well optioned for appearance when new.  What amazes me is that with 120k+ miles it never smokes and starts/runs like a champ.
