With engine installation just ahead, I have ordered the following exhaust gaskets, gasket coating and hardware:

Remflex 3011 Exhaust Gasket for Ford 429/460 V8 Engine, (Set of 2)
Permatex 80697 Copper Spray-A-Gasket Hi-Temp Adhesive Sealant, 9 oz. net Aerosol Can
Mr. Gasket 2231G Headlock Locking Header Bolt, (Set of 16)

My selections were based upon reading thru several threads here on the forum. Anything I may have overlooked?

Thanks for your input!

The Mr Gasket Headlock bolts are going back.... too short! They measure 3/4" and with the thick flange on the Crites' headers and the thick Remflex gasket, they aren't gonna work. Picking up some 1" header bolts on my next trip into Summitt Racing.

Well the longer header bolts arrived....

as well as the Remflex header gaskets....

Since the Crites 460 headers have individual header flanges, I trimmed the Remflex gaskets to the shape of the flanges....

I shot the gaskets with a light coat of the adhesive on the block side just to hold them in place while the headers were installed one tube at a time (FYI, the contoured shape of the gasket goes down and the angle cut is the top). Once they were all hung...

and the collectors installed...

the header bolts were torqued to 20ft/lbs.

Will have to wait until I light this baby off before I'll know how well the gaskets perform!

When I installed my coated headers, I used 3/8" thin width stainless steel washers so as to not have the header bolts tighten against the finish and screwing it up. Basically the washer sits against the header flange but doesn't scar the flange when tightening the bolt. Good choice on 1" bolts, looking back I should have used SS bolts, I used plated bolts for a better look/corrosion resistance.....they still rusted Angry. Nice BBF install!!
