The 351m is 0.794 inches (25/32") taller than the 351w, but i do not know if the motor mounts make them set the same. I will take a guess an say yes, the 351m sets higher in the engine compartment than a 351w.

351M is noticeably taller/wider in the engine bay than a 351w.

you would think that the crankshaft center line would be nearly the same for all engines?
the deck height of the block is a big factor in how tall the engine looks / is, and the size
of the heads adds to that.
351W heads are small, same as 289/302/5.0, while 351M heads are big square blocks
almost /if not the same as 429/460 height-wise

approx deck heights;

302 = 8.2"
351C = 9.2"
351W = 9.5"
351M = 10.3"
460 = 10.3"

the 351M/400 appears as large as a big block in the chassis

Crankshaft Centerline should be in the same place to keep transmission angle consistent, which keeps driveshaft angle consistent, which keeps u-joints in step with each other, and pinion angle...etc....

Also the fan center line is the same as the shroud is the same for all the cars too.
