Hey everyone, I am in the process of helping a buddy restore his 70 Torino.  While we are doing the job we want to swap from column shift to floor shift (buckets already installed).  I don't know much about autos since I've always built manual cars and I am having trouble removing the shift linkage from the column end.  It looks like there should be a cotter pin holding the rod on but there is not.  No matter what I do I can't get that rod to separate from the end of the column.  Any suggestions?  I would hate to cut it or something stupid but I'm beginning to get frustrated.  Besides that the column is ready to go and the new one is ready to go in.
