Hey guys, new to this fourm but I live in Alaska and its super cold and been snowing a ton lately. So my story is i'm 19 and I'm the owner of a 1970 Torino GT (sportsroof). I grew up most of my life in the Fresno, CA area and my father purchased this car for me when I was 15 with no engine, and a c4 sitting in the back. He bought me the car with the condition that I pay for all the parts (its been a bankrupt 4 years). I yanked out a old 302 from his 73 f100 rebuilt it in auto in high school, and slowly but surely got it running by the time I turned 16. By the time I was 17, I scrapped enough money together to give it a cheap Maaco paint job. I hated to go there at the time, but it was all I could afford at the time. By the time all of this was done, I was looking in a wrecking yard one day, and stumbled upon a 68 merc grand marquis that had a 429 with a c6 behind it. At this point, I was obsessed with the idea of a having a cobra torino. I pulled it and brought it home to rebuild it, and when I took the block and heads in to be cleaned, I found out the heads were cracked.

At this point things were happening in life and my family ended up making the decision to move to Alaska. I trailed the car up the AlCan 3100 miles and got there after a week of driving. I continued to drive the torino around for a few months as my daily driver until I had to get something for winter (that stuff that dosen't exist in california). By the time the winter came, I made the decision to yank out the 302 and c6 that I had in it and sell it and use the money to rebuild the 429 and c6 since I couldnt drive it in the winter anyways. To make a long story short, that wasn't near enough to rebuild it and now the torino has been in the garage since November 2015. I just fired up the new 429 barely this last week after a year and a half of trying to scrape together the money to rebuild it during all of 2016. Trying to get it ready in time for the snow to melt. Thanks for letting me share, and ill be posting updates on my progress. gonna drop some pictures below from the last few years of her. -Adam
