Hi everyone,

I did search the forums and didn't see the answer so figured I would ask.

I will be removing my seats to install new carpet. Question....I have front bench seats. Can I remove them as one whole piece or do I need to remove the backs off the bench seat? I know they fold down but is it enough to pull out the door? How hard is it to remove the backing of the seats?

Thank in advance.

Nope, it can all be taken out as one piece. Pretty simple. Just push the seat all the way back and take out the front floor bolts, the slide it all the way forward, exposing the rear bolts. You'll have to disconnect the seat belt warning plug under there if you have it. Think it's a pink wire. The male end of the seat belt should slid out from the seat back, or you can just take those out before you take the seat out to inspect and clean them. Those are attached to the transmission hump under the backside of the seat.  It'll help to have somebody assist you taking it out, because it is bulky....but you can do it by yourself.

Oh, with those seat belt ends, you'll need a big torx wrench. Forgot the size, sorry. Hopefully somebody can chime in.

One quick question for those that have changed them seat belts.

I noticed my top anchor for my seat belts are behind my headliner. Can anyone tell me when I replace the seatbelt will the anchor bracket stay in place behind the headliner or will I need to remove the headliner to install new anchor points?

Thanks in advance

Unbolt the seatbelt center parts from the floor and pull out thru the seats before removing the seats.
It's easier with the retractors off too, but not necessary.

Thanks everyone. Made my day, didn't want to fit with my headliner since it is original and in great shape.
