Very nice.   I wish I had the wherewithall (is that a word?).   Once again--very nice.
Just purchased for daughter- 1973 Gran Torino, 351m (uggh!- don't even ask how long it took to realize it was NOT the Cleveland!), auto, pretty good condition- as far as I can tell.

Thanks Jlocke. It helps a ton to have the facilites to do this resto and save a lot of cash doing it all myself except for the paint. You don't realize how much room you need when you take a car apart.Today I assembled the headlight buckets and got the body mounts in order.A complete topic on the poly mounts coming early this week with pics.

Awesome looking car! It gets me excited to start on mine. (When I have the $.) Question: How did you lay out the stripe? Is it patterned after the TV car, movie car or the Limited Edition stripe? By the way I have a Lim. Edition that I will probably start on next year.

I got one of the detective brent stripe kits. His template in the kit is rough to say the least. My painter laid out the stripe while I was there to get it the way I wanted it.Its closer to a movie stripe with more curve at the rear and the roof stripe is wider,13.5 inches. It the correct length at the front and just a sliver of red over the front wheels.I like it a lot this way.Whats the story with yours?Post some pics and info about it and what kina shape its in.Do you know what your car number is of the 1000?If you don't,as long as your car still has the original hood,it will be marked in a black paint stick under your hood liner.Let me know, mine is #770.

Mine is #840. There is also a 2B next to the 840, which I assume refers to the 2B red paint. It is in pretty rough shape and hasn't been driven since 1990. Money is the main issue right now, but I'd like to start some work on it this winter. It will need a complete restoration.
