Agreed. Just love the bumper tuck, especially the way the rear turned out. Great job!

Thanks, I did the front a little different than others, instead of bringing it up to just below the grill, I left it down even with the bottom of the fenders, more like the factory location and then I made new filler panels for the gap under the headlight, was hoping to just modify an extra set of factory ones I had, but you know how that goes . Anyway, just looked more balanced to me. As for the rear, there is actually no longer a bumper, just the custom lower valance in place of where the bumper used to be. A little risky I guess, I'll just have to stay out of bumper to bumper traffic as much as possible. |

this question has probably been asked... but, did you custom make the rear valance or modify it from something else, or just use a 72 or 73 valance?

It's a highly modified 72/73 lower valance. You would have thought it would have only took a little bit here or there, but it had to be widened, made taller and the pitch had to be modified. I was very determined not to put that ugly bumper back on. Check out my build page, I think I have some pictures of at least part of the process. |

Took the car on a 400 mile round trip cruise this weekend had a fun time
and enjoyed the back roads (just love tree covered roads) between
Collinsville and Clarksdale MS. Started in the sun and got there in the
rain :(
wound up washing and detailing the car at 6:30am the day of the show in
32 deg. temps (water froze to the car trying to dry it) Nice car show,
even won the "Sherriff's Choice" trophy plaque and a ratchet set. Thanks
"Cruzn the Crossroads" for a fun weekend. Yes, I was the only Torino
there. I just love tree covered roads! |

Lookin' good as always. The more I see you car, the more I like what you did to it. It's got to be one of the sharpest 74-76 non S&H Torino's I have ever seen.

Thanks so much for the kind words. I really enjoyed the build/restoration. I have recently closed my business and started a new job and have had little time to spend cruising and enjoying her, but soon things will settle down and I'll get more time behind the wheel.

Now that I have sold the bumpers and hood off my '76, I am running several rear end treatments through my head. I have a good idea of what I want to do with the front, but the rear is a bit more resistant to change.

I'm beginning to think about something a little different for the front of mine. Something a little sneakier looking in the grill area.
