I am putting a later year tank in my 73.

If you have done this swap, how did you get the fuel filler neck to work? The unleet hole seems to be at a different angle.

Please let me know..

Same here! Planing to use the specter 26
gal. unit to replace my factory 22 gal. tank and would love some feedback too.

I wonder if the larger tank hangs down any further than the 22 gal. original????

I figured it out.

I should be posting a video on my YouTube channel in the next couple of days.

The way I ended up doing it was to insert the fuel filler first, then install the tank and fired neck as a unit..

It does hang lower, but I bought the 74 and up straps..

If you get a chance look at my videos on You tube. I think I put the link in my signature...

geno, saw lots of good videos on your utube channel. Still looking forward to the next vid. to see how far the larger tank hangs!

CJ, Might need a '74 neck, but not sure yet. Still have lots to learn about the swap.

I need more gallons! At 8 MPG, I have to stop before a Tesla does!

The tank is installed and it doesn't seem to hang down too far...

Just checked out your tank install video and it looks like you had the car supported from the axle so the video seems to show the axle with the complete weight of the car on it. The bottom of the tank seems to be a bit more parallel to the ground compared to my 1972 22gal. tank, but hard to tell where they increased the design of the tank to get the extra 4 gallons. Would love to see a still image of the tank in the car with the car on the ground. Since you have a rear sway bar, and it looks factory, that will help to determine how that new tank sits compared to the 22 gallon capacity design.

Thank you for posting all those videos!

I am currently waiting on holley, I seem to have an ECU issue. As soon as I get that resolved and the car back on the ground I will post some pictures.
