I know it's come up but I can't find a thread. I'm getting closer to painting the car so I've got to come up with some hard answers soon.
From what I've seen in pictures the 72-73 front laser stripe mouldings appear to be as long as the 74-76 front mouldings on cars that don't have a front lower moulding. Are the wheel openings themselves that different? Is the front lower bodyline different? Has anyone here actually attempted to fit the later mouldings to the 72-73 fenders? Are they close enough to convince them to fit? Are the back wheel mouldings the same? |

from what i've seen some 74-76 are like the lazer style (no flat lower ends)
some 74-76 fronts have the lower rear flattened (for rocker trim) some 74-76 fronts have the lower rear and lower front flattened for rocker trim (some sport and brougham) rears are the same flattened for rocker trim or no flattening i do have a 72 fender i can see if the 74-76 front trim will fit??? |

Flattened would make sense. I've never seen them.

If you get the chance that would be cool. I'm thinking with the scarcity of 72-73 front moldings I might have to consider living with a flattened area down at the rocker area until suitable ones are available. |

I'd be interested to know if it works too. Post some photos of how it fits if you do this.

1974 - 1976 molding. A '73 front molding is the same shape (minus flattened area) as the '74-76, as they are the same fenders. Edited by unlovedford - 31-December-2017 at 2:38AM |

Thanks for the pictorial Joe. How've you been?
Is the rear flattened as well on that one? Are the 73's different from the 72's? I have found that some of those 74-76's don't have the flattened front section. Edited by lynchster - 31-December-2017 at 4:55AM |

Good to know too. Thanks cj.
It's only January so I'll have to keep my eyes and ears open. The half mouldings are practically growing on trees right now. I almost bought a laser stripe parts car just for the mouldings but I'm looking to move and having another car laying around won't make it any easier. |

I have used the 1/2 moldings to swat wasps, whack weeds, and extend my reach to pick up something on a shelf. Just too many collecting space.
