I have a 69 torino with the factory drums and manual brakes. I also have a 78 f150 parts truck that has power brakes and disc brakes in the front. I was wondering if anyone knew if i could swap the parts from the truck to the car???

Truck parts are not compatible. Radically different suspension/brakes.
Tons of aftermarket for that era torino chassis, but its all labelled "Mustang".

That is great info.  I am going to paste it here on the Forum, for future reference, since websites have a tendency to disappear.

64 65 66 67 68 69 MUSTANG FAIRLANE COMET DISC/DRUM BRAKE/ SPINDLES
If your Mustang, Fairlane, Falcon, Comet has 5 Bolt Factory Drum Brakes, You already have Excellent DISC BRAKE Spindles on your Classic.

The 5 bolt 65-67 Mustang Fairlane, Spindle, is the SAME EXACT Spindle Ford used to install the Disc Brake setup on the Assembly line, as well as Drum Brake----Only one Spindle for both application.

The 68 69 Drum Spindle is the same C6OA Spindle as used on the 67 Mustangs, So Yes, the 4 piston K/H Style Disc Brakes will bolt on the 68 69 Without changing spindles as well. You won't even have to change your Alignment settings!!!

So in other words, you can use your present 5 bolt spindle, install the "Bigger-Stock-, Factory 11 19/64" rotors, 4 Piston Caliper Disc brake setup without changing spindles.

Why Put on Smaller, Yes, Smaller Granada Brakes???

68 69 70 71 72 73 MUSTANG 68 69 70 71 FAIRLANE COMET TORINO DISC BRAKE /SPINDLES
The 68 - 73 Mustang, and 68 - 71 Torino, Mustang, Cougar, Comet, Fairlane FACTORY Stock Disc Brakes are all NEARLY identical.

FORDS FIRST Year for a TRUE Disc Brake Spindle for the Pony cars.  A Disc Only spindle which can not be changed over to Drum without a lot of fabrication, NOT as in Prior Years 64-67, where all Spindles were the same on the V8 cars (Accepted Disc, or Drums Stock from Factory)

Only difference is in the Bearing/Spindle Diameter change on the 70 Model Year, and a Tie Rod Pin diameter increase of a few thousands,  All other Deminsions, Geometry, Hardware, Calipers, remainded Constant from 68- 73 on the Mustang, and 68 - 71 On the Fairlane, Torino.

72 up Torinos are Totally different,  NO Comparision at all, as are all Granada Brakes,  No Pieces will interchange

Calipers are all single Piston, Floating design,   Unlike first  prior years (64-67) were all 4 Piston K/H Style , Hard Bolted Calipers.

Rotors with RACES REMOVED are all indentical from 68-73 on the Mustang, 68-71 On the Torino.  So one can install races in these rotors to fit the application for all years. Of Course all Originals were 2 Piece Design), but 2 Piece, one piece, Bottom line All are still Deminsionally alike and will interchange by using Correct Races/Bearing for Rotors.

All Rotors are 11 19/64" from Factory, Big Braking Power.  Larger than the Granada application.

68-73 Spindles can be installed on all Mustangs from 64-73.  Ball Joints will boltn up fine, even on the 6 cylinder cars!!!

Tie Rods are Different, as stated, and will need the Year of the Spindle to fit the Application.

This Single Piston Design, with the Big Rotors, and Calipers, was used on all 428 Cobra Jets, All Boss Mustangs, All Shelbys, All Boss 429, all SCJ 429 Mustangs, Torinos, Fairlanes, etc.  BIG STOPPING POWER

64-70 MUSTANG SPINDLE FACTS
1964-19666 cylinder spindles are all the same. Disc brakes were not offered on the 6 cylinders.
1964-1966V8 drum and disc brake spindles are all the same.
19676 cylinder and V8 are the same. Drum and disc brake spindles are all the same.
1968Drum and disc brake spindles are different. Drum spindles are the same as 1967.
1969Drum and disc brake spindles are different. Drum spindles are the same as 1967-1968. Disc spindles are the same as 1968.
1970Drum and disc brake spindles are different.
