Thanks for the warm invite
the car was my best friend in high schools dads(in Ohio). He special ordered the color and options. He was so exited to get the car, a few months later he got it and we all were cracking up IT WAS PINK he loved the car, we went on some road trips in it...
Years later I was visiting my friend and Dad was there and told me he still had the car and was thinking to donate it and wright it off. I said how much you want to wright off he said 700 I told him ill buy it and he said no and gave it to me. So I drove it from N.C to Florida  and broke down 6 times. tire went not even 20min out so I went to tire shop got tires and all the belts and hoses and had to change one hose on the  side of the road, lights didn't want to come on had to chase down the problem at a truck stop, dirty gas keep me stopping, and yes I had my wife and kids with me. I was one of those times you never forget. Moved to Aruba and shipped the car down, then moved back to Us then back to Aruba .I have more in the car in shipping and paint than it will ever be worth but knowing were it came from is worth it.
i was traveling and the cover came off and the sun killed top and paint. finally got her painted and two weeks later got hit. she got repainted today and will post photos in a few.
thanks stevo

Wow. Some story! That car has more miles in transit than it does on the odometer. I guess your not worried about shipping parts to Aruba after what you've been through. Can't wait to see some pics

Beautiful color! My parents had a 1979 Thunderbird in white with chamois cloth interior and vinyl top. My brother later had the top dyed white and had the bottom half of the car painted black and added the 80's era Cragar SS wheels. Sweet car!

Just under a million over a 3 year model run.
With that many made, you would think that there would be more around and better parts availability.

Just remember WHEN they were built.  The 70s are not gonna be remembered for the U.S. automakers incredible build quality...LOL

Actually, if we're talking about the same time period('77 to '79), I really haven't seen too many of the "rubber-noses" around.  Showfield, yes. but on the street, being used? not a lot.  Goes for the "four-eyed" fox Mustangs and II's as well.  Showcars, but no junkyard fodder or drivers.
