Yes instrument lamp rheo is built into the headlamp switch,

makes sense that the dimmer may not be calibrated to load with LED's

maybe a ballast?

The impedance of the globe elements will not effect the operation of any of the other elements on the circuit.

Or in other words if one or more bulbs were blown(open circuit) or one of more bulbs were replaced with LEDs(below standard current draw) the operation of the gauges and other warning lamps will not be affected.

However, the bit I cannot see by looking at the circuit is where the power for the instrument illumination comes from. If it is like the Australian Fords of the same period there will be a facility to dim the lighting and that dimmer is a rheostat.  Replacement LEDs typically draw much less current than the original incandescent bulb so what you may find is that the dimmer does not work like it did because the load is significantly less than what the dimmer is designed for.

Did the Torino come with a dimmer for the instrument illumination?

Been flat out with work and doing that sort of stuff you need to do around home with Winter approaching.  Hoping to have it close to finished by the end of the coming week. Kocked out a bit tonight:

there is a voltage regulator on the back of the cluster but if the gas gauge is reading correctly i'd think it's ok, i believe it runs the gas, oil, and temp.

Just curious.  I absolutely want and believe I need this circuit board.  My dash is dead except the speedometer and gas gauge and I really want to move the gauges that were mounted in the center dash back to the dashboard with this.  My concern/question is... if the previous owner added the gauges do you think I can bring the dash back to life with this?  Additionally, what, if anything, do I need to make this work?  Thanks in advance.
