Where does the black resistor wire go that comes out of ignition wire plug go?  Does it connect to the resistor wire that comes out of the speedometer plug?

i don't remember it being black IIRC it's white w/red stripe or green w/red stripe? the ignition resistor wire?that lowers the voltage to the coil?

now there's a small voltage regulator on the back of the gauge cluster circuit board, but it's self contained to the circuit board, if that's what you're inquiring about?

this is a black wire coming out of the speedometer plug and one of the plugs for the ignition switch. it says "RESISTOR WIRE DO NOT CUT OR SPLICE" on it.

1st, is this a std cluster or GT gauges cluster with a tach?

and is the car believed to be factory stock original in regards to the dash & wiring harnesses?

have you seen this thread,


can you pick out a pic that shows what you have?

there's a pic on the 1st page that shows a wire as you've described
