Thanks for all of the great welcoming comments. I have some pictures of what it looked like when I bought it and will get them on here. The whole front end is off right now.

Welcome Randy! Sound like you got a great project going there. Like Malcom said, start a project thread so we can follow along.
We'd love to see some pics of the car. Here's a thread on how to post photos if you need help:

Forum Members,
Just joining as a member. I had a 72 GTS fastback in high school and first three years of college. Made the terrible mistake of selling it nearing graduation and it lasted 2 weeks before it was totaled by the guy I sold it to. It had a really strong 429 and was a torque monster that ran great, but not great at passing two semis and meeting a third coming the other direction on a two lane highway. Miraculously, both sides sheared off leaving the guy without a scratch. Tears were shed when I found out. Never thought I would find another, but did find a red 72 GTS fastback a few years ago in a barn. Pretty much all there, never wrecked, but ridden hard and put up wet as we say around here. 351C with FMX. I have been working on it as time permits. Have most of what I need to finish, just trying to get across the finish line. Have a fresh 351C built and may get it swapped into the car this next week. FMX already rebuilt. Great way to spend Labor Day. Looking forward to hearing from others in this group. Randy |
