Mine is an S and has a 400. I am just guessing based on what is on this site and on the web.

Welcome Mark.  Like John said it's assembled in Atlanta, and has an H-code 351-2V (either a 351C or 351W).  The 31 decodes to a Gran Torino Sedan.

See more info here, specific to 1973 Torinos.

the decoders for the newer VIN's with 96 bit encryption don't work for old cars

FYI the H engine code can be either a Windsor or a Cleveland style 2bbl carb engine

Thanks for the heads up. I will post some photos. I plan to upgrade the carb and exhaust and the rear end. Save some money, buy a part. I am pretty good at turning wrenches but this project car I plan to learn a lot of new skills. The electronic ignition has done wonders for the engine.
