Hello all,
My 73 torino is running well. Upgrading the steering and suspension. How important are new strut rods? Mine are in good shape and do not plan to lower the car. My question is can I leave them alone for now? I have new sway bar connectors and bushings, I was thinking tie rods and new steering gear next. Any thoughts or suggestions. Thanks again.

As long as your strut rods are in good condition, not excessively corroded, they are find to reuse.  It's probably  a good time to invest in new strut rod bushings though, and most here recommend using rubber not poly.

The steering gear makes a massive improvement if you go to a fast ratio high effort box.  I personally thing a fast ratio Saginaw steering box is the way to go, but an easier option is the Lares 841 box.  Go over your steering system and replace anything that's worn, including tie rods, idler arm, pitman arm, etc.
