New here in Prosper, TX with a 1971 True GT, orig 351 but converted in it's complete restoration to a 429. Restored by a guy on OK that specialized in custom jobs he routinely sent to Barrett Jackson. He retired and this was his last work. I've been a fan of these since 1976 when my cousin had a 70 and 71. The rear ends of the GT have stuck in my head for life. Inline/hidden door handles, NO key barrels on entire car, slits for all cornering lamps, Console with 6-way electric BMW buckets, show trunk. Everything has been redone on this car and was a frame on. PS, PB, disc front, drum rear. Everything has literally been done. Looking to do final touches.

Next moves -
1) headers drag they are so low to ground!  HELP
2) Dropping approx 2"
3) Looking to do 20x8 resto style fronts and 20x10 resto rears
4) Stereo

Glad to be here - need help with headers! Or, back to factory manifolds.

Welcome to the Forum JB.  It sounds like you have a pretty nice '71 Torino.  I have upgraded you to a full new member so you have full site access.  Post some pics of the car when you have a chance.

I'd suggest starting some new threads for each of those topics to try and get the most responses.  Do you know what headers are on your car now?  For lower the car, you can get Eaton Springs to make custom front springs for you, or you can just cut the existing springs.  Macs also has a coil over conversion kit which would allow you to set your ride height.

They are actually hooker super competition ceramic coated long tube. I ordered the shorties do it all clear the powers and some of the options of the car has.  They are actually hooker super competition ceramic coated long tube. I ordered the shorties do But they don’t clear the shock towers completely, and some of the options of the car has.  I noticed two other post regarding headers and neither owner liked how low the headers were on their car and commented how much they rub. I think I’m going to stock manifolds, possibly have a contact for custom headers in Dallas. I’d love to find plug-and-play

The car looks great!  What are those wheels you posted?  If they fit a '72 Torino, you might be able to get them in a size that would fit a '71 too.

nice! i like the color, i'd swap to a hidden headlight style grill, but that's just me! there's a guy on one of the torino facebook pages asking about headers for the same car and engine i thought it may have been you but his profile said he's in florida... another guy posted a pic of some shorty FPA headers no part # but i could ask him for you...

those wheels on the 72 are US MAGS rambler U111 here's a link... (i'm planing on using them on my mustangWink)

Thank you for the information, my buddy had headers done by F PA. If you do get a chance to communicate with the other guy I’d be curious to what he says

The grill and hidden headlights is my fav. Just gotta find the money to do that - won't be cheap from what I've already seen - you know of any sources for that?
