I don't think there are any significant differences, at least none that won't make it work. The Master Parts catalog shows that D2OZ 16138-A (1972 part) was replaced by D3OZ 16138-A (1973 part). This seems to have been replaced by a later part number, D7OZ 16138-A later on.

the basic part is the same, a couple holes may have been added / moved / omitted due to engineering changes but nothing that can't be modified back to work for any year. maybe holes for like the lower fender braces?
